Gas Connection Grant
Do you qualify for a new gas connection grant?
The Gas Service Connection Grant is a scheme to extend the gas network in Wales and the South West of England. The scheme is for individuals and communities who have previously not been able to benefit from a connection to mains gas. The grant applies to existing homes and you must live at the home before you apply.
How to apply for your Gas Connection Grant
Wales & West Utilities Ltd provide funding to some householders to connect to the mains gas network. You may qualify for full or part payment towards the cost of connecting your home to the gas supply. You may receive a grant if you meet any one of the following criteria:
- You receive key qualifying benefits
- You spend 10% or more of your household income to heat your home (if you live in Wales) or have high heating costs and a low income (if you live in England). The Government sets these definitions.
- You live in an area designated for support by the energy regulator.
If you would like to have a new gas supply to your home, use the Wales & West Utilities online application form or call 0800 9122 999 to apply for a quotation for your gas connection. When you receive your quotation from Wales & West Utilities Ltd you will also receive a grant application form in the same envelope. To find out if you qualify for a grant, fill in the grant application form and send it in the prepaid envelope to Integrated energy Services. We will then assess your eligibility on behalf of Wales & West Utilities Ltd and let you know.
How it works
If you qualify, we will send you a voucher for full or part payment towards the new gas connection. You can then send the voucher to Wales & West Utilities Ltd, along with your signed Quotation Acceptance form, to be redeemed against all or part of the cost of the gas connection.
