ECO – Energy Company Obligation
The Energy Company Obligation, or ECO as it is commonly known, is a legal obligation which the government has placed on the big energy companies which requires them to promote and fund improvements to domestic homes through energy efficiency, including reducing emissions and heating costs.
The purpose of ECO is to help the poorest members of our communities, who live in hard to treat homes, with financial support to allow them to make the required improvements to the energy efficiency of their homes.
Energy efficiency measures which may be available under ECO include:
- Internal and External wall insulation
- Cavity wall insulation
- Boiler replacement and repair
- Loft insulation
- Draught proofing
- Renewable technologies
- Pipework insulation
Warm Wales Cymru Gynnes has extensive experience of delivering ECO and similar previous government implemented schemes for both public bodies and domestic clients.
