About Us

Warm WalesCymru Gynnes, and its subsidiary, Sustainable Housing Solutions – Tai Cynaliadwy Cymru, propose to deliver a wide range of measures, in the area of sustainable energy and regeneration, in support of Assembly policies.

As a forward thinking and highly successful Community Interest Company, with no shareholders we reinvest any surpluses we make into the communities we serve.

As a regulated Community Interest Company, Warm Wales-Cymru Gynnes, bring a community centred approach to economic, social and environmental sustainability. We invest in the communities in which we work and leave a legacy of positive achievements.  Whilst others are offering some of these services, we believe that no other Welsh organisation is offering this unique blend of knowledge, expertise, and access to funding, to the housing sector in Wales.

Warm Wales-Cymru Gynnes was set up in 2004 by National Grid, with a specific aim to meet its corporate responsibility to Government and deliver benefits to 1 million fuel poor homes. It chose to do this under the banner of the ‘Affordable Warmth’ Programme.

We worked with Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council to introduce the ‘Bringing Warm Homes’ scheme, and fully engaged with all stakeholders, to meet the challenging 80% target of householder participation. The schemes success led to the establishment of a second scheme in Wrexham. Warm Wales-Cymru Gynnes has already delivered over £26 million of investment into Wales, with funding obtained from a range of partners creating energy savings in excess of £52 million.

We are able to access grant aid under Carbon Emission Reduction Target (CERT) and Community Energy Savings Programme (CESP) from a number of sources with npower being our main sponsor. Our grant funding enables us to provide innovative financial solutions for challenging projects.
